Everyone on the team is excited when new faces decide to learn martial arts. It’s a very difficult, but rewarding journey and we’re all here to help you every step of the way. We take pride in showing our day one students just as much attention as our professional competitors. Tri-Force BJJ is about growth, and we understand that a friendly environment without ego is the best way to provide the comfort needed to make progress on this journey. Together, we all grow as humans and martial artists. We hope to provide to you what martial arts has done for us and many others. We hope you’ll join us soon!
Our Instructors
Professor Chuck
Chuck is a second-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) under Master Carlos Machado.
He started training and really falling in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2005. He fought MMA professionally from 2006 to 2016, ending his nearly 11-year career with a fight record of 17-9. During this time, he was a semi-finalist on the Ultimate Fighter Season 13, fought for the UFC and Bellator, and held three professional regional MMA titles. During his time fighting professionally and since his retirement, he has coached and cornered fighters in the UFC and Bellator along with multiple regional promotions.
Chuck received his black belt in 2017 under Carlos Machado and Tim Burrill. Before moving to Florida, he was an instructor at Tri-Force MMA.
He has a B.S. in exercise physiology and used that for 16 years as a personal trainer, operating his own personal training business for 12 of those years, and also helping his MMA/BJJ students and athletes with injury prevention and recovery. No two people are the same – their bodies or their goals – and he uses this approach in both his instruction of martial arts and in helping students to focus on injury prevention, recovery, and progressive strength training to really focus on their overall health and wellness.
Chuck is passionate about helping people reach their goals and doing it in a way that is not intimidating or overwhelming.
Coach Kris
Kris is a four stripe blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) under Professor Chuck.
Kris has been training since October 2021, becoming a student under Chuck in September 2023.
Kris focuses on making adjustments to techniques to add his own style and implement them into his personal game. He takes the time to truly understand the details of the techniques themselves so that he can simplify them when explaining them to other people, which is useful in making it so that everyone of every level can comprehend the basics and beyond.
After his first BJJ class, Kris knew it was for him right away. The physicality mixed with the high speed-problem solving had him immediately hooked. BJJ helps Kris to hold himself responsible and makes him an overall more disciplined individual. Kris found a new sense of confidence in who he is and life in general through BJJ.
While he primarily works with the kids at our school, he is an excellent instructor and training partner for all our students.
Coach Atticus
Atticus is a three stripe gray belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and the son of Coach Chloa and Coach Chuck.
He assists with the 3-5 year old class and takes a ton of pride in his ability to help them sharpen their skills while having fun.
In both his own training and in coaching, Atticus focuses on the importance of enjoying the journey and celebrating triumphs both big and small. He loves encouraging others to do the same and mentoring our youngest students.
Since starting BJJ, Atticus has gained confidence in all areas of his life, and he wants to show others how great BJJ can make them feel, too!
Coach Chloa
Chloa is a four stripe blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) under Professor Chuck.
Chloa started training because she loves physical activity and new challenges, and it was a great way to bond with her family who also trains.
Chloa focuses on the small nuances in technique that make a big difference in gaining and maintaining control. As one of the smallest people in the adult class, she relies on this a lot and uses her technique to frustrate and make her larger training partners work harder.
Chloa works with the kids at our school to help them develop and keep their love for BJJ while improving every piece of their technical abilities.
With BJJ in her life, Chloa has found a love for teaching as well as a way to leave all the stress of the day behind, off the mats, and better herself every day. She hopes to help everyone interested in BJJ see how beneficial it can be for both the body and mind.
